Remember Chick-Fil-A Day?

Well it's back -- but this time, it's for Hobby Lobby, the craft store chain that could face fines of up the $1.3 million per day if its Christian owners don't comply with the federal "HHS Mandate" to provide contraception to employees in their health coverage. (Keep in mind that Hobby Lobby still covers, and would continue to cover, 16 out of 20 contraceptives.)

Their case was argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 25.

Now, you can join Americans across the nation in supporting Hobby Lobby by shopping in-store or online tomorrow, March 29!

Please RSVP to this Facebook event hosted by Family Research Council Action as another way to show that you stand with Hobby Lobby!

Expanding Your Second Amendment Rights in Maine

3/26/2014

The Maine House of Representatives could vote anytime on an amendment that would allow citizens to carry concealed weapons without a permit. The original bill, LD 222, calls for changes to the permitting process, but the amendment would allow “Constitutional carry” or “permitless carry.” Residents of Maine who are not prohibited from owning firearms would be allowed to carry their firearms under their jackets, in their purses, or in their briefcases without obtaining permission from the government. Supporters of permitless carry contend that the Constitution should be the only permit required to carry a firearm. This is a great opportunity to defend and strengthen the 2nd amendment in Maine. Similar legislation failed by only one vote last year, so your Representative’s vote could be critical. Please call your legislators and ask them to support the permitless carry amendment to LD 222.

Hobby Lobby: Why We Fight

I was discussing this issue with someone who called themselves a Christian, and I was shocked when she said, "I support religious liberty for an individual, but businesses are not people, so they cannot have the choice in Health Insurance." There are two issues with this statement. First businesses are owned by an individual who have religious liberty. Businesses are property and the business owners have the right to run their companies in accordance with their convictions. Secondly, legally businesses are considered people. Companies being owned by individuals who are protected under the 1st Amendment should have the right to follow their conscience.

BREAKING: Obama Administration Allows Romeike Family To Stay In United States

3/4/2014

Michael Farris just posted on Facebook:
BREAKING NEWS!!! The Romeikes can stay!!!

Today, a Supervisor with the Department of Homeland Security called a member of our legal team to inform us that the Romeike family has been granted "indefinite deferred status". This means that the Romeikes can stay in the United States permanently (unless they are convicted of a crime, etc.)

This is an incredible victory that can only be credited to our Almighty God.

We also want to thank those of who spoke up on this issue--including that long ago White House petition. We believe that the public outcry made this possible while God delivered the victory.

This is an amazing turnaround in 24 hours. Praise the Lord.

Proverbs 21: 1 "The king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord, He guides it wherever He pleases."
This amazing news comes right on the heels of a disappointing announcement yesterday by the Supreme Court that they would not hear the Romeike case.  With this new announcement from the DHS, however, the case would have been unnecessary, and the Romeikes can stay in the United States.

Praise the Lord!

TEXAS: It's Time To Vote!

3/4/2014

It's primary time in Texas!  Polls are open today until 7pm.  We've endorsed four great conservative candidates: Greg Abbott for Governor, Ken Paxton for Attorney General, Katrina Pierson for Congress (TX32), and Konni Burton for Texas State Senate in District 10!

Find your polling place here, and be sure to bring your photo ID!

Greg Abbott for Governor

Currently the Attorney General of Texas, Greg Abbott has been a tireless fighter for Texas families and conservative values.  He has filed over two dozen lawsuits against the Obama Administration, fighting to stop Obamacare, rein in the EPA, and protect states' rights.  His is one of the strongest voices for faith, family, and freedom, and can be counted on to continue his strong leadership as Texas' next Governor.

Ken Paxton for Attorney General

With General Abbott running for Governor, Texas needs a strong Constitutional Conservative to replace him in the Attorney General's office.  That man is Ken Paxton.  He has fought for conservative values as a State Senator and will continue to fight to preserve the Constitution, guard religious freedom, defend voter ID laws, protect the sanctity of life, and more.

Katrina Pierson for Congress

Congressman Pete Sessions has been in Washington too long and has lost touch with the people of Texas' 32nd Congressional District.  In fact, he doesn't even live there - he's decided he likes Florida better instead.  We need Katrina Pierson -- a passionate advocate for freedom who Ted Cruz has described as "an utterly fearless principled conservative."

Konni Burton for Senate District 10

Senate District 10 may sound familiar -- that's the seat that pro-abortion Wendy Davis currently holds.  But not for long!  Even before Davis announced her run for Governor, grassroots conservative Konni Burton has been ready to do whatever it takes to take back Senate District 10.  Burton is endorsed by Ted Cruz, as well as by many other conservative leaders in Texas.
